The AMOC '50s Sports Cars Jack Fairman Cup is a series of races incorporating a broad range of Sports Cars, GTs and two seater Sports Racing Cars from the 1950s. Those were the days when amateur competitors drove up to the circuits, painted on their numbers, hurtled round the track and then drove them home again!
The '50s Sports Cars Jack Fairman Cup will feature 40 minute races with a mandatory pit stop and an optional driver change. The races are intended to be friendly, gentlemanly and non-agressive and provide good-value events for high profile cars with competent drivers. A high standard of both car presentation and driver behaviour is expected.
Once again, the Vredestein JEC Jaguar XK Challenge will be running with the '50s Sports Cars. So, expect to see Aston Martin DB2s, 2/4s and DB3s wheel-to-wheel with Austin-Healey 100s and an abundance of Jaguar XK120s, 140s and 150s. Which, together with Sports Racing Cars such as the nimble Lotus XIs and Lola Mk1s and the mighty Lister Jaguars of the period, make for exciting and nostalgic racing.
Throughout the 2016 season the 50's Sports Cars will be run in conjunction with the Innes Ireland Cup. However, each race will have its own podium places and full race results.
