Aston Club Racing is privileged to present the Innes Ireland Cup. Newly introduced in 2014 – this series is for all types of GT and touring cars built prior to 1966 and conforming to the FIA Appendix K regulations. The Innes Ireland Cup ran at almost every AMOC Racing meeting in 2015; each race is for 45 minutes and features a compulsory pit-stop and optional driver change.
The series is open to all Aston Martin DB4 GT and Project Cars as well as earlier ‘50s Aston GTs; plus E-types, Cobras, Austin-Healey 3000s, Ford Falcons and Lotus Cortinas from the period, and was created because so many owners who regularly race with us have suitable cars. The list of eligible cars is enormous – so if you think you have an appropriate car please let us know.
The Cup is names after former BRDC President and regular Aston Martin driver – Innes Ireland – and has been given the full blessing of Innes’ widow, Jean Ireland. The Cup was awarded for the very first time at the AMOC Racing Awards Dinner in January 2015, where Jean presented the Cup to Jeremy Cooke and Mike Dowd.
Throughout the 2016 season, the Innes Ireland Cup will be run in conjunction with the AMOc 50s Sports Cars incorporating the Jack Fairman Cup. However each race will have its own podium places and full race results.
